Minneapolis Engagement Session by Jonny Edwin

This cute couple grew up in the same neighborhood in Minnesota but didn’t become friends until they both moved to New York City.  Eventually their friendship blossomed into a romance.  After living in NYC and Colorado, the couple returned to Minnesota.  Check back later today for their rustic meets modern Lutsen wedding also captured by the incredibly talented Jonny Edwin.

From Katie: Pete and I reconnected (we like to say “met as adults”) when he moved to NYC after college in MN.  We grew up 500 feet from each other.  Our younger brothers were best friends as kids and our parents were neighborhood friends.  But it wasn’t until he moved to NYC (I am 2 years older and had also moved out after college – just 2 years ahead) that we actually connected as friends.  A year and a half later, sparks started showing up in what was previously just a friendship.  We didn’t tell our families for a few months for obvious reasons (this was winter/spring of 2007).  We told them around April, and shortly after decided we were done with NYC and spent the summer in Buenos Aires, then moved to Denver for a year and a half, then moved back to Minneapolis to be with family and for Pete to start his MBA at the University of Minnesota.  While in Denver we got our Goldendoodle Igby – she’s pictured in some of our engagement pictures.  She’s our favorite thing.

We got engaged in October of 2011 on a Friday night walking around the dog park.  That’s very us because walking the dog together is something we both love to do.  We celebrated with dinner at Broder’s Pasta Bar (another favorite) afterwards.
